John Wesley Powell didn’t have a dirt bike. If he did, he could have saved himself months and months of toil by riding Day 2 of the 6DAZE Dual Sport Adventure. Day 2 is a 120 mile loop which showcases remote and rarely-visited North Rim overlooks that are beyond spectacular. If they were easy to get to, these viewpoints would be jammed with artists, photographers, and tourists - but, as Powell alludes to, they aren’t easy to get to, which only adds to the beauty of this bucket-list ride. The eastern portion of the ride traverses high-desert two-track and gradually ascends the forested Kaibab Plateau. Gas and refreshments are available at the half-way point. The western portion of the loop meanders through lush meadows and Aspen groves via a mixture of pavement, forest roads and spirited two-track. Day 2’s riding is as diverse as the scenery - the hardest part is taking it all in!

The 6DAZE Summer Tour Riding Season is between May 31 and October 15

What this means to you is that gas and other services won’t be available where you’re going to need them most outside of those dates, not to mention seasonal road closures inside of the National Park which could end your ride at the first locked gate you come to.

"You cannot see the Grand Canyon in one view, as if it were a changeless spectacle from which a curtain might be lifted, but to see it, you have to toil from month to month through its labyrinths."
